Can a Capsule Wardrobe reflect your personal style
More than likely, when you search “Capsule Wardrobe”, you will come across ones that use items that are minimal, timeless, and neutral.
Even though yes, these are super helpful depending on your personal style and lifestyle, many people feel limited by it. Why? Because it’s just boring to them.
The capsule wardrobe that is “timeless” will speak to a certain group of people. If you have a minimal and “timeless” style, you might love what you've been seeing so far! But if it isn’t your style or doesn't even work for your lifestyle, you might have wondered, “how can I create a capsule wardrobe that isn’t boring to me?”.
Let’s throw it back to when the concept of capsule wardrobe was introduced. It was designed to be versatile, cohesive, and timeless. Key word here: Timeless
Well, let me share with you my belief. I believe that your personal style is timeless!
And before I start explaining, yes your personal style can change while you go through trial and error to discover what your style even looks like. Even with trends coming in and out, your personal style can have an impact.
I’m talking, once you have an idea, once you have an understanding about your personal style, your likes and dislikes, that’s going to be timeless to you.
For example, I have this paisley print button up shirt that I thrifted. Because I know that boho elements (paisley prints in this example) are something that’s going to be timeless for me because of my personal style, I know that I can invest in items that have these prints and still be able to wear them in 3, 5, or even 10 years from now! Obviously, quality comes into play here but you get the point.
What you can wear over and over for the next few years can look different from someone else. I know with my lifestyle and personal style, having a “classic” wardrobe (which is referred to as a “timeless” wardrobe a lot of the time) isn’t going to serve me at all.
So, to answer this question, “Can a capsule wardrobe reflect your personal style?” the answer is absolutely fu*king yes!!
